The game is buggy as hell The start of every game is very good, you don't feel like eveything is being gifted to you. Obviously there are civilizations that are more difficult than others. However the balance of civilization power is mostly given to their population. Economy, diplomatic relations and size practically don't matter at all. Trade is messed up There is this bug where if you trade 100 gold (which is nothing) to a civilization, you can make them go to war with whatever nation you can think of. There are other options to trade, like provinces, military access, defensive pacts, non-agression pacts, etc. But I haven't been able to trade with any of them, even when I'm the most powerful civilization of the game. Civilization Power and Combat As I said before, the power of a civilization comes from its population ONLY. More population means you can have many more armies or numbers because that's all they are on the map. An example of this is France and the British Raj in the 1936 scenario, this are two most powerful civilizations of the scenario. When playing, the British Raj proclaims independence from the British since they both have the same power, and thus it messes up the alliance between Britain and France which gives them both tremendouse power and making the unbeatable if you don't make them declare war to each other with the trade bug. Combat is confusing. There are modifiers of terrain that affect how well your army does on certain terrains like mountains or deserts, but late in the game, they don't really matter that much since, by that point, armies are in the tens of thousands and these penalizations are unnoticiable. And I don't know if this is a bug or not but, late in the game, you can see all armies in the world from other civilizations and most of them are packed up in their capital, like 500k+ troops, and when they are attacked they send the 500k+ pack altogether, and now you're fighting their entire army in a single province and you, that has the troops along your borders, must recall all of them to fight the massive army or to waste money with conscripts, effectively defeating the purpose for strategy and preparation. Other weird bugs When you are pretty far off in the game, this bug happens where all diplomatic relations between relations are set and stuck to zero, you can't improve or severe relations anymore. Also it tends to happen very often that an economic cluster always happens, this means only one civilization in the game will start to pump a single province with money to improve its economy. The goods The colonization system is pretty good. It makes sense that in early game colonization is expensive and when you unlock more science points and time passes, it becomes cheaper. But you can't create vassals to administer said colonies because a British Raj scenario could happen. Have not the developer abandoned the game in favor of the 3rd game (a copy of EU4), I think this game could have been way better thant what it is now. I recommend grabbing this game on sale rather than paying full price for it
