Loving this so far. My only complaint is that selling provinces is extremely difficult as you have to sell them one by one, searching for their names in the menu, which is very tedious if you are a large civilization since you have to scroll through a lot. Would love it if you could paint on the map to sell/transfer multiple at once instead.

After a wait so long, here it is... and it's beautiful. The one man army Łukasz basically made EU4 lite (big oversimplification) all by himself. As someone who enjoyed the prequel (couple hundred hrs in AoH2) I can name a bunch of key differences: - turn-based => RTS; which is very well executed: combat is much more enjoyable (and not as frustrating as in AoH2) - more provinces (see: HRE) - better graphics, UI, colour palette, music - the ovr experience is just... cleaner, better, prettier and more glorious. Not to mention vassals automatically change color... perfection - the pace of the game is much slower - no more europe speedruns in 200 years (that means LESS BORDERGORE!). This is way more realistic and doesn't get boring either because: - the economy, growth, system is actually intuitive and rewarding, so whenever you're not out there killing everything in your way, you can just build roads and stuff and become an economic giant (which has acutally rewarding and noticeable effects as opposed to the prequel) - wars are pretty different: only two countries can really beat each other up, the allies are just for help and don't gain anything in the wars (which makes sense, but is also kinda annoying) - units give more strategy when planning wars and actually distinguish the weak from the strong nations - meaningful research (although it can get a little tedious with it being capped so low and only dependant on your capital city...) - resources: although i was a bit skeptical when i saw them in trailers, i gotta say, they work really well. - the Holy Roman Empire: oh boy, this went through such a glow-up. Now it's not that easy to break it apart from outside (for example as Poland... i had to learn it the hard way...). Also, making laws within the empire that lead to unification? Sign me up. - religion: kinda pointless from what i've found, but is a cool addition ig - colonisation got rebalanced and is hella satisfying when you see it happen - leaders are no longer immortal But hardly any game is perfect at launch. Here's some stuff that i personally found weird/annoying/poorly executed: - missing features from AoH2, which really could've stayed: forming unions [why?!], ultimatums [why?! ig it got rid of the cheesy vassal strategy, but you could've got around that some other way], RELEASING CUSTOM VASSALS [JUST WHY?! It was so fun making colonial vassal states in the americas!], TRADE [??????? just let me buy military access!] - diplomacy (especially alliances) is annoying. the AI scoops up all the alliances asap, so whenever you declare war you have to deal with double your army (unless you managed to ally someone at start). this makes early expansion much more difficult. there's also a limit on non-aggression pacts for some reason. - the rivalry system is weird: with three rivals, you can barely make any allies later in the game. i'd suggest having only one or two main rivals. - my first playthrough as Poland: Lithuania sided with the Teutonic order in 1440. i mean, i don't wanna argue about historical accuracy, but maybe the scenarios could get a bit tweaked so that some nations have got relations from the beginning? But overall, great game. Massive improvement over the prequel, and lived up to the hype. I was not disappointed. Would recommend to any AoH2 player and even Paradox game fans if they want a more chill experience. 9/10

Insanely good game, but there are a few things that need to be changed - If you win a war against 2 countries id would be great to have peace deal with both of them, not only one - Being able to see coalitions before they declare war, just like in EU4 - Manpower recovery too slow - Peace deals are weird, 90% war score for a peace deal is unnecessarily high, id love to be able to sue for peace even with say 40% (of course make them able to reject though) - Limit on Alliances - Unhistorical Alliances - NOT BEING ABLE TO ANNEX VASSALS - If your vassals allies a country and you declare war on that country, your vassal will switch sides - Cant call vassals into wars there are a few more things but despite all of them i still recommend it!!

I think this game is great! For £8.99, it's a VERY high-quality game. Some things (such as the air force system) could be better though. Just please don't abandon it like the last one.

Bought this game immediately after watching the trailer. Much more complex than AOHII but still easier and simpler than HOI4.
