This game perfectly reminds the sword and sorcery/sandals Hollywood movies genre. Agreed that this game crashes often at certain points (In my case the caves where the witch lives) and some of the traps can be really annoying, and gameplay controls can be improved. However, all these issues were nothing before the fun i got while playing this game and i was kind of sad that the game ended. I completed both Shyena and Rahaan route and both have somewhat different story line, for the game. I am hoping that the developer makes "Age of Barbarian II" so that i can again have the same amount of fun.

I came for Conan and stayed for Xena. We know what we're here for, right? So, does it give it to us? No doubt. And yet, the question is: at what price? Well, the truth is that I was surprised by both the video (graphics, music, and effects) and the gameplay (fighting and the network of scenarios), although it perhaps feels a bit flimsy. Even the buttocks move xd! This game reminds me of those that spread by word of mouth. To the snake, the body, belongs the will. Being free is nothing more than escaping the chains of the body. But the snake, who knows this, will tell you to deny the body, because it feeds on the will. The gods, fortunately, gave us steel. After all, do u wanna live forever? PS: Manowar is welcome ^ ^

nice game, it's a side scroller, but the characters are fantastic and there is not another game quite like this

This game is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's not perfect by any means, if anything its pretty jank and often annoying (both in terms of controls and cheap deaths) but it clearly had a lot of TLC poured into it, you can feel the love and care that was put into the whole thing.

edit: I forced myself to play more. I like it, it's good, idgaf, I'll probably eat up every Age of Barbarian product for the foreseeable future. I'm no longer bad at the game. I have mastered the jank and don't even think the controls are (that...) clunky anymore. But I still think some bosses are dumb, traps are absolutely garbage, and the whole "can't save and exit or else you have to start the whole mission again so you have to do it in one sitting" and "when you die you have to restart at checkpoint/beginning" game method is stupid. Especially when some things can one shot you. Also navigating areas is ROUGH, wtb map holy shit. I can't even remember what I had for breakfast how am I supposed to remember which door I just came out of wtf. (this is me being bad at directions not an actual game issue yafeelme?) I beat the game only to find out I -didn't- beat the game because I didn't explore and find every secret in every map because you need the secrets for spoilers to spoil and get the actual ending, so after beating the game and forcing my way through it I got the, "Now do the entire game again, but better" and wanted to strangle someone LMAO. MAYBE IF IT WASN'T OBNOXIOUS TO EXPLORE WITH INSTANT DEATH TRAPS, CLUNKY CONTROLS (plz just GRAB THE FUCKING LEDGE ALREADY), AND HAVING TO START OVER AND OVER AND OVER I'D ENJOY EXPLORING THE LEVELS MORE AHGHRHHGH. After dying it's just like, "Nope, just get me THE FUCK OUT OF THIS MISSION" not "teehee let's explore more!" okay i'm calm I still recommend it and love it. Even if I hate not being able to save/load wherever/whenever. (which is basically my only REAL complaint after having beaten the game - and yanno besides the occasional bug like an enemy floating against the side of the arena and shit lmao) --- pre-edited review below --- --- pre-edited review below --- --- pre-edited review below --- I tried. I did, honest. But holy shit it's so clunky. The aesthetic is the best thing ever. I remember seeing this bad boy drop in Stream's indie program greenlight or w/e two thousand years ago. I was there. I thought, "Wow this looks terrible but I hope it does good so we see more of it." Fast forward like 15+ years and this game is still somehow THE ONLY GAME IN EXISTENCE THAT HAS THE AESTHETIC AND VIBES OF CONAN/FIRE AND ICE/SWORD AND SORCERY. HOW? HOW IS THIS THE ONLY GAME IN THE FUCKING WORLD WITH THIS AESTHETIC? HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. I'd kill to play this game with the game play of something like Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, or Dynasty Warriors. I gave up on it after 2 hours, but I'm still gonna recommend it because I hope the next one is better lmfao. Vibes, Setting, Story, Narrative, Music, AESTHETIC: S tier, amazing, 10/10, need more like this. GAMEPLAY: holy snot bubbles batman I can't do it, I TRIED. I TRIEDDD. I CCAN'T DO IIITT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (I bought two other CRIANSOFT games that aren't Age of Barbarian just to show them some support for making Age of Barbarian, and played them first, then played Age of Barbarian. In an awkward twist, the two games I have no interest in have better gameplay than the one game I actually give a fuck about and want to see more from, lmao my life is a comedy wtf)
