This scratches that anti-grav racing itch in a big way. The different techniques the player can use to increase and maintain speed are fun and rewarding. The character designs are all vibrant and unique, each exemplifying their vehicle's specialty. I've had the soundtrack on repeat whenever I go out in my car and haven't crashed yet, so that's a plus. Can't wait for more of this game to be released as its early access continues. I'm Tom.

It's too hard for me, it makes Redout 2 on nightmare difficulty look easy. Game is well made, music is good, tracks have simple yet interesting designs, and even on the lowest difficulty the AI will tear you apart if you give them the chance. I don't like it personally due to difficulty and lack of time to get good at it but it is objectively a good game so it's getting a positive review.

This man really looked at F-Zero not getting a proper title in like 20 years and went "Fine fuck it I'll do it myself." And then he actually did.

I started the game up. Played each of the cups on the hardest difficulty, and got first in all of them. I'm not saying this to gloat, rather, I'm saying this because the F-Zero GX experience carries over THAT directly. Within a minute of the first track I was back in it. This truly is the F-Zero GX spiritual successor we've been waiting for for god knows how long. Every single "F-Zero like" game in the past has gotten no where close to the responsiveness, control, style, music, and speed that GX achieved. And Aero GPX basically nailed it. The only thing that's significantly different is the art style, which is a given considering that it's a 1 man dev team. But the art is still appealing as well, albeit simple. The fact that this is a one man dev team (I think) is astounding. Guy has a lot to be proud of. You can tell he waited to release early access until the gameplay was complete, and it sure is.

This might be the best racing game released in the last 20 years. The controls are responsive and tight, without being too "assist-y" and instead leaving allot of nuance and depth with allot to master about them. The career mode helps this as it feel like every special challenge that isn't just a standard race is specifically tuned to get you to practice getting good a specific aspect of the controls with both the car and track you are forced to use for those missions. The career mode is also THANKFULLY kinda difficult, meaning you really have to LEARN the game and engage with its mechanics before you are allowed to progress or unlock new vehicles. Everything about the controls is perfectly tuned, down to the hyper slide and the way the spin move "unlocks" your turn speed for super tight turns, the strafe for precision and turn assisting, the slam which can be used for combat AND split second horizontal adjusments, its phenomenal. Even the music, which I was expecting to merely be passable due to the track record of other contemporary racing games, is an ear melter. The tracks are all almost electric guitar focused with other synth instruments mixed in and this along with the pretty good sound design, leads to an amazing sound profile that is COMPLETELY immersive as the whole world fades away into the background as you pilot these hyper-boosted machines. In a day and age where the only racing games coming out are slow, boring, and way too "simulator-y" (even the ones that proclaim to be "arcade" racers), this game is a finely crafted dream that I cannot put down.
