This game is really dope. If you like Diablo style gameplay but don't like the eventual progression of murdering hundreds of enemies while spamming 1 button then this is the one. Each pack of enemies feels like a challenge.

Much better than I expected, would easily recommend if you like both ARPG's and Soul like mechanics and want to see what it would be like combined. Well executed, though where i am at in the game my only gripe is lack of skills to make the game play a bit more varied.

UPDATE: Devs have done a lot of major patches since my original review, and even reached out to me to let me know, so I think that's really awesome and shows the hard work they've put in this little gem. So please give this game a chance, and I'm definitely excited to see what they come up with next! <3 Original review below: I'll be honest, I played the first 15 minutes or so, put the controller down and said it wasn't for me, even though I LOVE Greek mythology (which was what drew me to the game in the first place). I actually opted in to refund the game, unknowing that I'd had it over the time period limit. And let me tell you, I am THANKFUL that I didn't commit to the refund. I thought hell, I've already paid for it, I may as well play more of it, so I did. Following this tale of Achilles was well worth it, and the length of the game is also decent, too. Look, there are some little things here and there that make it janky. The voice acting isn't AAA, but it's not a AAA game (and I'm pretty sure the same dude did the majority of the voices). Sometimes the shield doesn't aim the way you want it, so I'd use my keyboard instead when necessary. But overall, the game was definitely worth the hours of play. The world itself is gorgeous, as to be expected with anything Ancient Greece. The range of enemy types as well as weapons is good, too. I'm so thankful that I didn't end up getting my refund, because once I gave it a chance and let the story progress, I wanted to see it through til the end. It was a little hidden gem with a pretty damn good price tag to it, too. I had a lot of fun, loved the writing of the story, and enjoyed the fighting style. Really well done. :)

It's just OK for that small price. The idea of taking mechanics and a combat system like in Dark Souls only harms this game. I immediately turned off focusing on the target because it works terribly, it switches to the wrong enemy and constantly jumps. And in general, this seems like an unnecessary mechanic in the game. Because in this RPG genre, when you have a lot of enemies on the screen from all sides, the last thing you will do is focus on any specific enemy. This is the main problem with the combat system in this game. It was specifically made around focusing on one target, like in Dark Souls. Some of the hero's abilities are directed and without focusing on one target, you will simply use the ability past the target, even if the enemy is standing in front of you. But if you thought that for a normal game it’s enough to simply turn off focusing on one target and choose non directed abilities, you’re very mistaken.. Without focusing on the target, it is also very easy to miss with simple attacks, because the hero does not hit the nearest target, as in similar RPG games. The hero simply attacks ahead of himself. Therefore, you need to try hard to ensure that your hero is directly in front of the enemy at the moment of impact. I would say that the combat system is the biggest disappointment and biggest problem in this game. Just remove it from the game, make it like Diablo or Titan Quest and this game will shine with new colors and be 10 times better. Next, the looting and items systems. The game has a huge number of secondary items, such as bombs, traps, weapon oil, potions, and many other resources. And all this is useless. I beat the game using only healing potions, simply because everything else in the game has no value. And also because using all this is completely inconvenient, since it is again implemented like in Dark Souls, with crossbar buttons which you don't have time to use in the action battle and, again, you need to focus the target first. Also, switching a huge number of these items causes difficulties, because only 4 items can be placed on the panel. They can only be changed through the inventory. It would be good to display the second panel by holding the button, but for some reason there is no such feature in the game. There is no value in different weapons either. During the entire game I changed weapons 2-3 times and it was just for fun. I essentially beat the game with the same weapons, without even really upgrading them. Played on medium difficulty. Many identical points of interest on the map - basements, chests, improved chests with search for keys. This gets boring by the middle of the game and you simply ignore them, not only because of the same type, but also because of the lack of value in these activities. There are also Metroidvania elements here; you cannot open some of the chests without receiving an ability that is given later during the story. I had no desire to go back and open it. There is little variety of enemies in the game and they are often repetitive, especially in the second half of the story. I guess this can hardly be called a problem, given the overall length of the game and the small size of the world. The developers tried to make a good game, but for some reason they decided to build it around the mechanics of hyped souls-like games, which negatively affected the final result and only made the game worse. In general, I would rather rate it between good and bad, but considering the price of the game, the fact that I am a fan of ancient Greece and a more or less good story, I am more inclined to give a positive rating.

Pretty good game. A mixture of dark souls type combat with the top down view of diablo/path of exile. Pros: - Combat easier to learn and satisfying - A Good mixture of enemy types - Story is pretty decent, there are a few choices you get to make. Not sure how that effects the story. - The camera locking on system got improved and is playable now (was an issue before) - Price is good for what you get Cons: - Co-op is not story mode but an arena mode. I can never find anyone to join and when I do, they are afak or across the world with horrible ping. Would recommend this game for solo play, stay away if you are strictly looking for co-op.
