It's a story-driven pixel art adventure game that mix slice-of-life, fantasy & psychology. Though most tasks are similar to point & click adventure, the game also incorporates some sequence input for fighting mini game, & simple stealth mission. The strong points of the game lies in the stage design, music, and story. Stage design looks beautiful especially the town where Indonesians might find them relatable. Music match with the overall atmosphere of the game albeit short & becomes repetitive when playing the game, though I enjoy to listen to some of them once in a while to relax. The story was a bit confusing at first for my small brain especially at early stage, but at soon as it got closer to the end, it became much clearer and turns out it was a tear-jerking story about past trauma & personal struggle. If I were to nitpick, there area few minor flaws. The save system is a little bit weird. It doesn't exactly load to the moment you save, but instead to the beginning of the area/event/cutscene as if you just enter that area or start that event/cutscene. And the other thing is there are no wrong choice/action that can impact the ending (i.e. multiple endings), though I understand that may be due to time & budget constraints or simply design choice. Overall, I can recommend this game especially to those who love story-driven game.

One of the most emotional stories I've ever experienced in a game. The story starts out simple in its presentation - even somewhat childlike - but as more threads come together it becomes something deep that really sticks with you. The retro pixel art is very well done, and the music/audio design is exceptional. I loved exploring the town and other areas. You can PET ALL THE CATS! Gameplay is mostly a mix of point & click puzzles and QTEs: some bits felt a little tacked on for the sake of adding interactivity (even if not necessary in the moment). While the mechanics could occasionally be tedious, it was never difficult and messing up wasn't punishing. If you are looking for a profound emotional story in a beautiful package, look no further than A Space for the Unbound.

A Space for the Unbound isn't a game, it's a punch to the gut wrapped in a love letter. The world's ending, sure, the sky cracks like a broken egg, but that's just the backdrop. This is about the people you love, the ones whose anxieties leak onto the very streets you walk. You play as Atma, a high school senior with a gift (or maybe a curse) – you can dive into people's minds. But these aren't thrill rides, they're spelunking expeditions into the darkest corners of their souls. You'll face down the demons of your childhood sweetheart, Raya, the self-doubt gnawing at your best friend, each dive a raw and emotional journey that left me blinking back tears more times than I care to admit. The characters feel like people you grew up with. You see their flaws, their vulnerabilities, and you desperately want to reach in and pull them out of the darkness. The writing is honest, unflinching, and it will unearth some of your own buried emotions. Be prepared to laugh, cry, yell at the screen (because seriously, some of these characters make terrible decisions!), but ultimately, feel a profound sense of connection. Indonesia, bathed in the golden hues of nostalgia, becomes another character. The pixel art is a love song to a fading world, the soundtrack a melancholic symphony that lingers long after you put down the controller. It's a world on the brink, but the beauty shines through the cracks, reminding you of the things worth fighting for. The gameplay itself might not win awards, the puzzles can be a bit repetitive, the combat a tad clunky. But that's not the point. A Space for the Unbound is about the emotional journey. It's about the desperate hope you cling to as you try to save your friends, their laughter and tears echoing in your mind long after the credits roll. Don't forget the cats. Petting them becomes a desperate act of normalcy, a tiny beacon of comfort in a world teetering on the edge. Look, this game isn't perfect. It's slow at times, frustrating at others. But the emotional impact? That's a different story. It's a game that will leave you raw, a kaleidoscope of emotions swirling within you. It's a reminder of the power of friendship, the bittersweet beauty of letting go, and the enduring hope that even in the face of oblivion, love and compassion can mend the broken pieces of our world, both inside and out. # Rating 9/10 This isn't just a game, it's an experience. It'll break your heart, mend it with laughter, and leave you a changed person. Just keep some tissues handy, maybe a friend to hold onto when the world starts to crumble, and get ready for a journey that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

At the beginning of the game I thought this game only brought fun, it turned out that the story was very deep, I was carried away by sad emotions because I was carried away by a strong story and always wondered about every journey in the game. and I also bought this game twice for her and myself. and she also felt the same way carried away by the atmosphere of the game.

A project that proves that video games, along with films, painting, music, and so on, are art. But can we call all video games art? Do all video games catch the strings of your pathetic soul like that? Or are video games just a way to pump out money? This is a unique game, an example of real game art, not shit from Ubisoft, EA and others. It makes me extremely sad that the culture that I have lived in for so many years, and that has literally created me myself, is now just a fast-growing business. Every time a game like this comes along, I start to believe again. Into yourself, into people, into culture as a whole, and that's wonderful. Art should evoke emotions, real emotions, should make you feel something... to feel the echo of your soul. A space for the Unbound is a game that evoked a huge range of emotions in me, from sadness, worry and mild depression to joy, faith and hope. A game that tells a story as if you're there, as if it's all with you. A game that shows a believable outcome and development of a person, under the pressure of society, family, his inner demons and the struggle with these same demons. This is the merit of many talented people, just like the author of this review, who love games and respect them as art. It pains me to admit that over time such games will clearly lose popularity and lose all status in the world, but as long as they exist, I believe that large companies will have their own little garage geeks who create great worlds and unforgettable stories, worlds that evoke sincere emotions. Thank you for this piece of art, I will never forget it. I wish peace to all, because we are citizens of the same world.
