a new life. is an interactive fiction style of game, where the dialogue options you choose drive the story. I got this after playing another game by this developer, missed messages. , because of how much I liked it. The art and sound design is beautifully done. I think those two aesthetic elements really help set the mood in relation to the main story. The story itself is really nice. It's grounded and has a very relatable feeling to it. However, the game itself felt short? Despite the playtime actually being longer than missed messages. , I feel like that game did a way better job of showing the characters and making them feel more well rounded. I understand that this game is meant to have time jumps, but I just think that more screen time with the characters or more in-depth interactions could've really benefitted this game.
