games fun but online is buggy, I've been placed in quickplay lobbies with no people and I've had multiple online matches where my controller stopped registering inputs despite the menus and prior local games doing so.

This game is amazing. Even from only a few minutes in I can tell this is something special. Each character is well designed with inspired move-sets and while the base content may seem lacking, what you get for your moneys worth is more than enough. Plus There will be new content added in the future like 5 additional characters and even workshop support. I would give it an 9/10 only cuz I wish there was some form of proper single player content like a story mode (which is not required) and proper tutorials (which are required).
