I completed the game a while ago but didn't write a review because I was left without words and I still am like that. This game is something else. You would think it would get repetitive since the actions happen during the same days and in a small area in all routes, but oh boi. I don't know what else to say, so I'll leave it at that.
i hate and like the game imo. not love it tho just like it.i was bored for the first and 2nd route ngl but the more i play and the more lore was discovered the more it made sense, this is the type of otome game where u lowkey gotta pick a side to see from other perspective in a way, well for the first 1st and 2nd route tho WAS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BOOORINGGG, im so sad that im not rlly attatched for any of the character. I LIED IT WAS TOA TOA WAS MY FAVORITE WHATS UP WITH MY FAVORITE OTOME CHARACTER THAT I GEN CANT SHUT UP ABOUT KEPT ON DYINGGGGGG... okay but not rlly attached in a way i think i can like literally get over this after 2 day since i didnt play that route literally literally yknow what im saying, i didnt even realize toa have a true route until near the end shouldve added the more cg need to be discovered cuz like damn i didnt even realized it i thought i was done so i thought toa was just like what the ♥♥♥♥ is he doing there soooooooo , also no idea why they decided to make the damn pseudo incest that i highkey think is just a damn incest cuz mf homegirl of an mc kept calling him a brother while kissing like dont pmo hoe,JUST DONT ADD THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ROUTE LIKE DAMN!!!! AND IM HELLA SAD BCUZ THE BROTHER DESIGN WISE IS THE HOTTEST GUY EVER BESIDE TOA , rlly like the other brown haired guy too forgot his name alr but rlly like it if they just make him a yandere in a way cuz like the scene where he forced her to eat,,,the scene where he crashed out....ooohh hot.....BUT BUT BUT I DONT LIKE HOW THE CONFINING THING WORKKKK I DONT LIKE ITTTTTT LIKE it felt out of place with his behaviour dawg, he gives of that one guy who is overly dramatic for no reason which made me laugh so hard at a time in the game,a thing in this game and like the brother route was really rushed. in a way? kind of like that yuh. still a fun play tho. u just gotta let it simmer me think
I overall enjoyed this game but it left me with a lot of mixed feelings. The voice acting, art, movie, music, characters and writing were amazing! i especially love love LOVE the song 'Lovesick' by A-TO and have been looping it for weeks after Toa's route. The story was very detailed and the atmosphere was lovely. i love that theres an order of route to follow where it slowly unravels the whole mystery route by route. Its such a good game! Now my biggest problem was how naive and lacking the MC's personality is, i mean i initially thought she was a cute shoujo girl and really liked her for the first 3 routes... until i started Sosuke's route...it started off so good and then 80% of the CG is just her hugging sosuke, NOT EVEN IN DIFFERENT OUTFITS. it just gets repetitive especially since sosuke's route is one of the longest one. If u go through all the CG's u can see how all the other characters had cool action scenes and variety of fun scenes and sosuke's CG is basically just the 2 aliens hugging eachother meme. Its such a shame cus i was so excited for sosuke, im such a sucker for the smart nonchalant types who slowly warms up to MC. but alas, i couldnt stand MC in his route. Yuzuki's route gave me so much hope dude, i was so happy finishing his route. And then the secret route unlocked where we got to meet the missing brother, its the route that ties everything together. omg so excited, omg so anticipating omg im sure im gonna love how they conclude this game NOOOPEE THEY WENT THE VAMPIRE KNIGHT ROUTE AND WE START ROMANCING THE BROTHER?? the brother turns out to be an immortal zombie who kidnapped her and brainwashed her into thinking hes her brother, worst thing is that he started realising hes in love with her when she was in MIDDLE SCHOOL. i gave so many benefit of the doubt dude. i was like "no it cant be, maybe they are just affectionate, they wouldnt- and then THEY KISSED *PUKES* i feel like i need to be jailed bcs my choices led to this outcome. Shoutout to my man Hino who saw that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and was like "yucky mucky what the f*cky" and left but yeaaaa overall i really enjoyed it, my favourite route was Toa's. MC was also the best in his route <3
This game had me freaking out sometimes with all the suspense and moments of being chased down by a creep but it was ultimately enjoyable!!! (Maybe I just get easily freaked out but they did make the backgrounds and the music creepy when needed 😂) Just like with any otome game that reveals lore in every route, I was obsessively taking notes as I played. It was quite fun making theories and connecting the events in one route to another. I played this in the recommended order that's written in one of the community guides so almost all of my theories and questions got answered in the end which was quite satisfying. So yeah, if you hate locked routes and just plan to go for one or two routes that interest you (and maybe thinking there will be no plotholes by doing that), then you might want to hold back on getting this. If you are a mystery and lore enthusiast type of otome gamer, then go ahead and get this game!!! UNLESS you aim to finish every route AND absolutely can't handle certain tropes. (More on this in the Content Warnings section). Ratings per content: - Drama: 8/10 - Suspense/Scare factor: 7/10 - Romance: 8/10. Some routes have better relationship development than the others. - Spice: 4/10. But there are half-naked sprites and kissing sounds so you might wanna rethink playing this in front of your family. Pros: - Mystery and lore drops in every route - Entertaining banter - A yearner who is a bit of an idiot (affectionate) - A man who can cook and do more than that - A cat-lover LI - A silly megane who has a tendency to yap about random facts and has 4894926 random licenses (the yapping was entertaining for me but it might annoy you) - An LI who unexpectedly imitates how the MC speaks (and he did well doing it) - Very likable side characters - MC's writing might not be satisfying in the first few routes, but I swear they wrote her better in later ones. - GREAT VOICE ACTING!!! But make sure you use earphones while playing because the kissing scenes have kissing sounds. (Thank you for your service, seiyuutachi) - Some easter eggs on the title screen gradually "appear" after getting certain endings - The Tips/Dictionary section can be quite funny - You enjoy Among Us Cons: - GAME CRASHES OFTEN!!! Do not rely on autosave/quick saves!!! Make sure you properly save every once in a while!!! If the game didn't autosave your progress before it crashed, load your latest save and force skip through the text you've read. Read text is in purple, while unread is in white. - GAME NEEDS AN INTERNET CONNECTION FOR SOME REASON!!! - Writing of one to two (or three, depends on your taste) routes may be a bit of a miss, but there were still enjoyable parts. (There are 6 routes in total, including the secret character.) - Some mysteries might be easy for you to guess, but it didn't bother me much because I needed to know WHY/HOW things happened. - (Really minor) They somehow messed up syncing the voicelines with the text for an NPC in one of the routes. The text is correct, but the voicelines are not 😂 Content Warnings!!! (Do not read if you want to play the game blind) - One route has a trope which is pseudo-incest sprinkled with grooming. If you don't mind missing out on some lore, feel free to ignore this route especially if you're uncomfortable with this. (But please don't go attacking people who like this LI. Separate fiction from reality, kids.) - Contains topics/themes that might be difficult for you to handle at the time of playing such as death of a loved one, death of an animal, and grief. In other words, don't play this (yet) if you are looking for a light otome game. - Other stuff: confinement and gender-related killings A friend told me that this game was half-loved, half-hated by the community, but if you don't mind most of the cons and the content warnings, you'll be able to enjoy this game.
