10/10 recommended if you have 69 different brains working in parallel, 33 fingers and 11 keyboards otherwise you will stuck at level 1 for 4 hours

After reading some of the negative reviews, it seems like many of the complaints come from players who either struggle with reaction time and mistakenly blame the game’s response time (which isn’t an issue), or they’re having trouble with the difficulty of distinguishing colors. The only real color-related concern is with red, but the other colors are easy to differentiate. For me, the game was a lot of fun. I think it's especially great for beginners learning keyboarding skills—it's an excellent way to practice finger placement. It’s also a fantastic warm-up for more technical games like Rainbow Six Siege or Rocket League. The music is energetic and engaging—definitely a vibe that keeps you on your toes, almost to the point where even something as automatic as breathing can throw off your concentration and cause you to lose. Overall, this game is absolutely worth the small price of $1.50. Honestly, I’d pay up to $10 and still feel like I got my money’s worth. 10/10, highly recommend!

Easy to learn but hard to master with an excellent soundtrack to accompany you on the way. Community levels are a great addition! Recommended if you like fast paced arcade games and retro game soundtracks.

HARD GAME. Love the game, Love the music, I WILL SAY that I love the speed and difficult HOWEVER it would be amazing if they put a way to "slow" a level to practice it, the actual practice mode doesn't help in improving your skills, another thing is that it needs easy levels for casuals-not-so-tryhard-gamers like my cousin... not me.

LISTEN. WATCH. SHOOT. VIBE. Simply put, 64.0 is an easy-to-understand rhythm game that lets you shoot something. That “something” may be just a bunch of colored squares referred to as “guys”, but hey. You can shoot something! Nevertheless, this title can be a source of joy for at least a couple of hours and if you put enough energy into it, maybe a lot more. Basic rules Let’s unwrap this gem of an indie game. What is it? It’s an arcade title with extremely high difficulty and one simple premise. Shoot the bad guys and let the good guys live. You win by surviving the level for exactly 64 seconds. Easy enough, right? Any more details? I hear you ask. Well, bad guys are squares with the same color as your background and good guys are squares with different colors. You gotta pay attention which direction you’re firing your weapon, because shooting a good guy ends the game. Fear not though, there are not many directions in which you can fire your weapon. There will always be only four directions at a time, though some levels alter which keys you need to press. At its core though, 64.0 allows you to shoot left, right, up and down, which makes WSAD and directional arrows default way to play. Sometimes though, the game throws in some spanners in the works mixing up the gameplay. Flashing lights, tilted maps, multiple squares that need to be hit at the same time or even a white blanket covering nearest space to your shooting square, that renders all of the “guys” close to you colorless. 64.0 is very demanding and it’s difficult to describe how truly challenging the levels can be. I advise to treat them all as an adventure though. Your first playthrough might take around 15 seconds but don’t worry, tankfully the game is not created in a way that will actively disturb your gameplay or make it unnecessarily harder with each attempt. No. You are put into the same map every single time, it is not procedurally generated. It’s not random. Each time you get the exact same line of squares coming your way in the exact same order. It is a rhythm game for a reason. It has to fit the song playing in the background. Worst case scenario the map will be flipped and that annoying stream of 4 bad guys will come from the top instead of your right. This means that everything can be completed if you put enough heart into it. You just gotta figure it out and make no mistakes as you play. Simple as that! Make it your own 64 Customization is this game’s highest selling point. I’m not even joking when I say that everything in this game can be adjusted. Sure, it requires you to delve into game files, but the game creators rebel rabbit have prepared all the files and instructions for you. Literally without any knowledge about programming you can edit the colors, controls, effects and even entire songs to fit your liking. All with simple commands written into text files. I may be challenged in that regard, but to me it was somewhat mindblowing that I was making a direct impact on how the game looks and behaves by simply editing text files prepared by the developer. All that customization sure does help as the game, in my opinion, looks rather bleak by default. Muddy colors that despite being completely different, somewhat blend into one another. I believe such shades were chosen to combat all possible colorblindness issues, but it didn’t strike me as welcoming. Fear not, it takes around 3 minutes and voila! Your own chosen colors are now represented in the game. Personally, I have picked more vibrant and striking colors, but you’re free to choose whatever you please. Just a note tho, stay away from picking the same color for every type of “guys”. It does make the game unplayable. Community adds depth Simple as can be, 64.0 contains 8 levels + an endless mode. Depending on your skill level, those can all be completed during one monstrous 2-3 hour run, or last for about 20+ hours. Maybe even longer if you’re dedicated enough but just can’t stop failing. It’s the Super Hexagon or Super Meat Boy of rhythm games. You either try long and hard enough to succeed or drop it the second it starts getting annoying when you can’t reach the finish line. All in all though, 8 levels does not seem like much and if I am to be brutally honest, it really isn’t. Tankfully, there is more depth to it if you’re willing to try. Remember when I said that you can customize songs to fit your liking? Yeah. 64.0 has an entire workshop full of player made maps, all with different soundtracks to accompany you in your adventure. Some are better, some are worse, but that’s how it is with Steam Workshop. What matters is that you can truly browse through thousands of songs and pick the ones you like the most and spend that little bit extra time in 64.0. Fun that is basically free I have to praise this game for how many hours it took out of me before writing this review with how incredibly simple it is. Throwing it into Steam Workshop was a great decision which greatly prolonged my gameplay and it definitely will extend yours if you simply give it a chance. 64.0 costs close to NOTHING and the -50% coupon for it can be found in cereal, it is so common while crafting badges on Steam. For what it gives, the price tag of 3 Euros is basically a steal. You’d be missing out a lot if you got as far as to read the entirety of my review and not give this game a chance. In all seriousness, please do give it a shot. 64.0 is fantastic and it is cheaper than a cheeseburger.
