After completing this game 100% Summary: A simple, chill game to turn your brain off with as you effortlessly evaporate thousands of monsters. If you're a casual player it's definitely worth playing but if you're looking to 100% be prepared for a grind Overall rating: 3/5 ✅ I liked: [*] The visuals. This game has a pretty aesthetic that makes it nice to look at as you walk around killing everything you get close to. Once you hit late game your screen will turn into a complete mess with thousands of enemies surrounding you while your OP weapons mow them down. I for one thought this was satisfying to watch but I've seen others say it's too much, so definitely something to consider if you don't like visual clutter. [*] How casual it is. There is no story to follow or strong sense of immersion getting pushed onto you. Each run is only 20 mins so you can just boot up a quick run or play for hours, whatever you feel like/have time for. [*] The progression of unlocking things. Each level gets slightly harder but not so much that it feels like the game is against you. It's also very generous with points so you are able to unlock all characters/weapons early and experiment as much as you want. ❌ I didn't like: [*] The balance between weapons/characters. I had to complete the max level of darkness with every character and weapon. Some felt super strong, some were easy to sit back and autopilot with, but some just felt lacklustre either by requiring too much effort for not enough reward (water gun) or were just weak in general. [*] The impact of runes. I spent a decent amount of time cooking up different builds but there were only a few that really felt like they made a difference to my gameplay, so I ended up just sticking with the same build for majority of the playtime. [*] The "spread" of achievements. If you have a look through them, a lot of them are tied to just completing Darkness 15 with every character/weapon which can be alright for encouraging people to try everything in the game, but locking them all to the very end of the game ends up making it feel super grindy. I wish there was more interesting ones like Pacifist & Reckless.

This game is amazing. It scratches both the bullet-hell and shoot-em-up itches. It allows lots of customization in your build and it gets very difficult as you progress. And if you really nail your build, the mass devastation you get to unleash at the end of the 20 minutes is very satisfying. Plus, all the characters are women! What more could I ask for?

good game, handles combos well, sticks nicely to the colour palette throughout the entire game. A decent amount of stuff in game. you'll get your money's worth but (criticism time), there are a couple of QoL things that could be done to make it better, you cannot see stat modifiers in pause (which would also be helpful), redundant items and which serve no purpose especially the standing still book(removes your ability to move, and due to you not being able to destroy projectiles, it takes any fun away from that being an option or possible combo to use, I'm not saying projectiles should be "parry-able" but just replace the tome. You cannot see skills and abilities or synergies from the main menu, so you gotta plan a run on the go. The game could definitely use a content update or DLC to keep engagement. Personally - I think a map with more physical obstacles would be good(not trees that can hurt you like in first map, but things you need to move around as they block you, or just adding more detail to maps Also, unlockable items and modifiers or skills(i know starting weapons exist), think more like vampire survivors) would help with engagement and reasons to keep playing and more reasons for completing higher darkness levels Good game though and I don't think its been abandoned, although I haven't seen an update in a bit. works well on anything (i have potato laptop) and is very addicting until around the 20 hour mark you will enjoy though.

Didn't end up playing it too much after I got a couple of wins. I felt like I saw the same items a lot across my runs. Best part is the graphical style in my opinion.

One of the best five bucks I've spent, it's a gorgeous little survival roguelite that plays and runs very well. The mechanics on offer are a bit light in terms of depth but it was enough to keep me coming back. This is a fairly casual experience compared to Vampire Survivors or Halls of Torment but what's here works quite well. I only wish there was more content to enjoy in what has otherwise been pretty balanced and engaging for the price. One complaint I noticed is that due to the art style, it can sometimes be difficult to read and track certain attacks which got me killed a few times. Apart from that, I had a very good time with this game. 8/10.
