A Beautifully Haunting Experience with Nostalgic Vibes If you're a fan of retro arcade games and appreciate pixel art with a deep emotional story, this game might just be a hidden gem for you. I've found myself returning to it repeatedly, captivated by the unique atmosphere and its blend of sadness and beauty. This game isn't just a collection of well-crafted minigamesβ€”though each one could stand alone as a solid arcade title. Instead, it's woven together by a compelling coming-of-age story about lost innocence and a tragic event that shapes the young protagonist’s life. As someone who grew up in the arcade era, I felt an instant connection, and the narrative really resonated with me on a personal level. Plus, it's genuinely fun to play! It may not be for everyone, but if you’re looking for an experience that goes beyond just gameplay, give it a shot. You might find yourself as drawn in as I was.

This is a collection of 5 short games, connected together by a story that's honestly pretty boring, with some really cringy dialogue and it doesn't even have an ending (and probably never will). The games themselves are pretty fun with some great visuals and music, but it only takes about an hour to beat the whole thing, so I'd definitely wait for a sale before getting it.

This is an absolute must-play for anyone who enjoys indy retro games! My only complaint about this game is that there was not more of it. I am hopeful for the sequels, mainly to expand on some of the enigmatic story elements that were hinted at. I am not sure if I would want to see more of the same mini-games presented here or new ones in the sequel, but I love what is presented so far, especially what seems to be a positive message about video games as therapy. Kudos, Hi-Bit Studios: if you ever come out with something new, its going in my library!

I can see why some people are disappointed, this is a short experience and neither the gameplay ideas nor the narrative are quite fleshed out enough, particularly the latter. You're teased with some hints of a larger story which isn't ever delivered, and I don't understand why. All we needed were a handful more cosmic, existential musings on the nature of life and gaming, but instead we just get a credits screen at the end. I think on balance, you can't objectively say the project is unsuccessful. But it's hard, given that what's here is so high quality, to be left wanting more and feeling like the experience isn't quite enough - not in terms of time or even gameplay, but in terms of emotional satisfaction. The art and music are so good, I'll forgive the game not being perfect. But I really want it to be.
