If I have to be honest I picked this game quite some time ago, completed it and forgot about it until a few days back when I realised I had some achievements left to earn. The game itself is a fun, short game to play. It doesn't require a lot of skill or strategy so it is a great way to kill time when you are too tired to play anything more complicated. Just put your favourite podcast in the background, get comfortable and enjoy some relaxing downtime. Moreover it is not an expensive purchase and it does give you your money's worth in the means of entertainment.

12 Labours of Hercules is a charming and surprisingly addictive time-management game that brings ancient Greek mythology to life. Developed by JetDogs Studios, this game is a delightful mix of strategy, resource management, and quick decision-making. If you're a fan of resource management and strategy games, then this one’s for you! Pros: - Mythological Theme: The game does a fantastic job of weaving in the story of Hercules and his 12 labours. It places you in the shoes of the mighty hero Hercules, tasked with completing various legendary tasks set by King Eurystheus. The setting is vibrant, featuring lush landscapes and mythical creatures, and the narrative is engaging enough to keep you invested, even if you’re just looking to optimize your resource gathering. The presence of mythical characters such as the Hydra and Cerberus adds a layer of depth to the game, making it a joy for anyone with an interest in Greek mythology. - Challenging Yet Rewarding: The levels start out easy, allowing you to grasp the basic mechanics, but gradually ramp up in difficulty. Each task requires strategic thinking and precise timing to complete efficiently. The real charm lies in perfecting each stage to achieve the highest rating. It’s that ‘one more try’ factor that will keep you hooked. Successfully completing levels often requires planning your moves several steps in advance, which adds a layer of strategy that fans of the genre will appreciate. - Visuals and Sound: The artwork is bright and colorful, with a cartoony style that’s easy on the eyes. Each level is beautifully designed, with a variety of landscapes such as lush forests, scorching deserts, and icy mountains. The character animations are smooth and add to the whimsical nature of the game. The soundtrack is pleasant and fits the mythological theme without becoming repetitive. The background music and sound effects enhance the immersive experience, bringing the mythical world of Hercules to life. - Replayability: With multiple objectives in each level, including the elusive gold stars, there’s plenty of incentive to replay and improve your performance. The game offers a variety of challenges that require different strategies, keeping it fresh even after multiple playthroughs. For those who love chasing high scores and mastering levels, the game provides plenty of opportunities to test your skills. Cons: - Repetitive Gameplay: As enjoyable as it is, the core gameplay loop can become repetitive after a while. The tasks are straightforward, focusing on clearing paths, gathering resources, and building structures. The challenge comes mostly from optimizing your time rather than encountering new mechanics. After a few hours, you might find yourself wishing for more varied objectives or additional mechanics to spice things up. - Occasional Frustration: Some levels might seem overly difficult due to tight time constraints or resource limits. It can be a bit frustrating to have to replay a level multiple times to get that perfect score. However, this challenge is part of the game’s appeal for those who enjoy mastering difficult levels. Patience and strategic thinking are rewarded, but the learning curve might be steep for newcomers to the genre. Conclusion: Overall, 12 Labours of Hercules is a delightful gem for fans of the genre and those who appreciate a good mythological story. It’s the kind of game that you can dive into for short bursts or long sessions, and it manages to balance fun and challenge quite well. The combination of strategic planning, engaging storytelling, and charming visuals make it an enjoyable experience for players of all ages. If you’re up for a bit of ancient Greek adventure with a side of strategic planning, this game is definitely worth a look. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran of time-management games or a newcomer looking for a light-hearted adventure, 12 Labours of Hercules has something to offer everyone.

At it's core, Labours of Hercules is a time management game. I like the art style and the game is easy to understand. That said, don't let your minions sit idle! You've got stuff to get done in a timely fashion. There are lots of levels to defeat so you'd better get crakkin! At it's modest price point, Labours of Hercules is a cheap and fun way to pass some time. Kudos to Jetdogs/Zoom Games!
