This game is so janky, I love it the jank is literally everywhere: When I first opened the game, I saw a small windowed game. only upon starting the run I discovered the ALT + ENTER shortcut, which refused to work unless I reduced local scaling on my PC. Which is funny, cause stuff like usually happens in old games, while this one came out 3 years ago. The game starts off flooding my screen with nonsense lore and tips, which never seem to end. Oh, and they reappear on any future runs too! After you exhaust the game of it's mumbling, you can finally start battling... which is done automatically. The game uses very generic cartoonish punch sound effects, and that's awesome. It has a ridiculous sequence of two slow punches followed by [url=https://youtu.be/0jvX1N3u0Yo?si=mdXjSG5iVNJbwhu-] LITERALLY THIS until the fight is over. You can speed up the fight by holding CTRL, which is fine, but my hand started to hurt after an hour of spamming CTRL, and I had to proceed with my only one left. After my hand became temporarily dysfunctional, I found a setting that completely skips the fighting sequence (which is around 10 seconds long with fights on every corner). Because I was spamming CTRL, I used a bunch of my keys accidentally and realized how easy it is to get softlocked in this game. Even on easy difficulty. Also, sometimes game just wants you to fight two things one after another on intersections, even though you don't visually see that, so that's also something to look out for. After 1.5hrs of playing this game I got softlocked around 15 times, needing to restart my run from the very beginning. it varied from me not getting a golden key before first boss, which meant that i cannot get to it, and unable to go back, to me clearing out an entirety of the first location and realizing that I'm completely out of keys and have to slay the last enemy, which is behind a silver... whatever bush-crystal looking thing that is demanding me to use one. Puzzles were also something I would like to point out. As I have only experienced two of them, but they were both unexpectedly wonky and clearly didn't work properly. The first one was a grid with mice running around, where you had to navigate to the boss while not trying to lose health on rodent encounters. Unless you are a dev of this game, you probably didn't realize that, even though this is a grid, the mice can hit you DIAGONALLY. The second boss fight was so bad it literally would've made my day if I didn't have to restart thrice to make it there. The "puzzle" is a simple [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lights_Out_(game)]Lights Out Puzzle , but instead of buttons you have two types of enemies: dark spirits and light spirits. At first I though that you need to complete the puzzle to get the key, but upon further inspection I realized that it's not as complicated. You see, when you hit a dark spirit, it switches to a light one, but some grids already have light spirits. So to complete this "puzzle" in the most optimal way you need to... walk straight to the key and back on one of nearby tiles... Also, while I was busy slaying ghosts, the game started to blast spirit's sound effects on 100% volume ( I had sfx on 3%). It never disappeared, but reduced to 3% when I opened the menu. I would probably give it another try, simply because I want more of whatever was happening in my short time of playing this game. Should anyone ever buy this? idk. The game is very cheap (got it for 1.5 euros on a sale), and I definitely got my money's worth. Despite playing it for 1.5 hrs and not getting past the first part of the story, the game managed to inspire me to write such a long review. This game is one of those "so bad it's good" experiences, so do with that what you will.
