This is one of the best FMV romance games out there. It does a lot of things right any only has a few minor problems. The story is good, with the player-character being an ex-photographer who was blacklisted by the industry after false accusations of sexual harassment. So you find a menial office job which will eventually lead into some redemption and clarity. Along the way you meet 8 (!) admirers, although two are hidden fallbacks with less screen time. Most are linked to your job, but there is good variety. The list includes a DJ, old friend, roommate, colleague, Japanese hard-worker, travel writer, journalist, and boss. Sadly one is not like the others; the blonde boss Selina speaks English but poorly. Her lines are bad, with inaccurate subtitles, and her acting is below standard. But the others are awesome; with a few standouts like DJ Tracy (DJ Lokyii IRL), Wang Yichen, and Jiang Mi. One admirer has perhaps the best bittersweet ending you will ever see. The production quality is excellent, with many filming locations and great sets, props, lighting, extras, group scenes, and everything else you can think of in the genre. Video quality is high with a mix of close-ups, wide shots, cityscapes, and nature views. It is paced extremely well and has a fantastic soundtrack. The audio is brilliant (virtually no ADR) and the actresses have clear voices. There are many branching paths and a few significant diversions with fun mini-games like an arcade fight and escape room. Some endings are a little abrupt, but most conclude the romance arcs well enough. Game length is typical of the genre, taking 2.3 hrs first run and another 5 to see everything. Even the hardest achievements tell you how to unlock them, which is the cherry on top. Aside from Selina, most other issues come down to nitpicking. This whole game is always online and there are some minor delays. The affection values are not shown on the timeline, but the requirements are lax so this is not critical. While translation is decent overall, some of the notes and all of the bonus videos have not been translated. However, if you are a fan of this genre then this one is a must play. I’ve Fallen For You! 1) This game incorporates features from many FMV games. It has a similar feel to Knowledge or Know Lady (KoKL) in terms of item usage (instead of collecting items to use, you pick an item to bring with you, featuring a Cantonese female protagonist, and more interesting mini-games). The interface design is similar to Love is All Around (LiAA), with features like favorability increase and decrease, collection of Easter eggs, actors' voting leaderboard, behind-the-scenes ending videos, and advancing to the next chapter requiring sufficient overall favorability. It also follows some features from Charming Hearts (CH), such as the MC character, ending style, and a horror plot. 2) This game has 7 chapters and 8 female protagonists. However, the last chapter is a personal ending chapter for each of the 6 female protagonists. The other 2 female protagonists have hidden endings. 3) The most interesting part of this game is the plotlines design, with the first and second rounds of play (choosing different options). It’s like two movies with almost entirely different scenes that lead to the same storyline. So, if you haven’t played this game, don’t choose all the options in the first round; pick only one option. In the second round, choose a different option. It's like two movies, created based on the choices you make. 4) It's like KoKL, but you pick different items to bring with you, which changes the scenes or leads to different plotlines, and results in different favorability. This can happen in the current chapter or in subsequent chapters. 5) The filming quality is excellent, and it has its own creative style, especially during the selection of options. 6) The English subtitles are not based on machine translation, but there are no subtitles in the behind-the-scenes ending video. The Cons 1) Each scene is too short, which causes the plot to be easily forgettable. 2) This game follows CH's bad endings style, which is not a good approach as it feels meaningless without proper explanations of what happens. 3) In Chapter 7, when there is not enough favorability, the option for the MC to confess to the girl should be locked, as they do not have a good relationship. The MC should not attempt to do this, doing the confess with no favor and get rejected is meaningless ending. And the scene, where the girl likes the MC coming to her and then rejects him, doesn’t match. The Characters : 1) We can see the female protagonists' horoscope sign (Sun sign) in their profile, but this is not enough to understand the characters, as their personalities are like the combination of their Sun and Rising signs. However, the mini-games in this game are interesting and fun, making the gameplay experience better than KoKL. 2) This game follows CH's MC speaking style, which is a very good character. However, the game follows CH's bad ending style, which is not a good approach, as it feels meaningless without proper explanations of what happens in some endings. 3) For LiAA similarity, it is a good approach to follow LiAA features like favorability increase and decrease, actors' voting leaderboard, and behind-the-scenes ending videos. As for the 'advancing to the next chapter requiring sufficient overall favorability,' this game sets the requirement very low, which brings no trouble to the player, except that some endings may present this challenge. This way, it doesn't spoil the first round play by choosing all options. 4) This game is very well made, and its quality is Tier S. The creativity in its UI design, plotlines, filming style, and mini-games is incredible good. The songs in this game are also very good. However, the love stories in this game aren't presented very well. It shows the female protagonists loving the MC, but as the MC, I didn't feel much romantic connection from him towards the female protagonists, except for those who knew him in the past, which can be considered as having had a good relationship before. The filming needs to showcase more emotional depth to help everyone truly feel it. 10/10 (masterpiece) With the quality and fun, this game surely deserves the same score as KoKL, and it has more features than that especially the creativity in this game is very good.

'I've Fallen For You' is definitely one of the best Chinese FMVs out there as of now. Solid storyline, good OSTs and BGM, scenes are well-made, each and every characters are unique and were fleshed out, 7 chapters, multiple endings for 1 character, and there's no need to grind for hearts to unlock a chapter as long as one is high enough. Even the clothing style for each character were great. The styling for Anxia was very pretty. It's great to see the epilogue of the girl you pick in Ch7. My first playthrough and ending/epilogue with Jiangmi felt satisfying to watch, knowing that I actually achieved a true good ending. A solid FMV, definitely on par with 'Love Is All Around' and 'Knowledge or Know Lady'.

Unlike a year ago when 'Love Is All Around' was the main Chinese romance FMV contender, this year, fans and players of this genre are certainly spoiled for choice with upcoming releases like 'Game of Fate'. In 'I've Fallen For You', the player takes on the role of Cheng Lin, a photographer who has been cancelled and disgraced over false allegations and seeks to rebuild his career. How does 'I've Fallen For You' compare to others like 'Five Hearts Under One Roof'? Warning: Some Story Spoilers Ahead!!!!!!!! Pros: -The increased variety of backgrounds for the love interests such as European art director Selina, Hong Kong DJ Tracy and Japanese gig worker Kawase Nana are really refreshing and interesting! Especially it's very uncommon to see non-Chinese love interests, with the exception of Nico in 'Knowledge or Know Lady'. -The production quality is superb from the visual quality to the variety of scenes. -With 8 love interests and 7 chapters, there's a great amount of content and replayability. For example, you could get a good ending with Selina, Jiang Mi and the others in Chapter 6, or you could continue further and see another best ending in Chapter 7 with your chosen love interests. -Some of the women have very deep engaging stories, sometimes beyond the romances with Cheng Lin such as Xu Xinqing's scheme of using Cheng Lin's skills to put more of her preferred employees in the company or Jiang Mi's involvement with the false news report that got Cheng Lin cancelled from the photography industry. It makes these particular love interests feel more real, as they have agency and choice beyond the player's involvement. -There is a nice balance of comedy, ridiculousness, serious drama and sweet romantic moments that doesn't go into the cringe territory. -While not perfect, the English subtitles for the dialogue and choices are mostly pretty good and does capture the majority of the Chinese dialogue. -There is a nice variety of mini-games, such as the puzzles for the horror Escape Room scenes that change things up for the game in a positive way. Cons: -While having more love interests is generally a plus, I found that certain love interests were more heavily involved in the story. These included blogger Jiang Mi, art director Selina, corporate intern/heiress Xu Xinqing, manager Song Jing and DJ Tracy as their stories were more closely tied to the main narrative of Cheng Lin's work in a fashion company. However, this means that Japanese gig worker Kawase Nana and travel writer Yu Anxia tend to get sidelined as they hardly appear beyond their introduction scenes and I would argue, are "secret" or "bonus" love interests. -As a Chinese speaker, the English subtitles just needs an extra bit of polish to improve the grammar and translation such as changing the occasional "I" to be either "he" or "she" depending on the subject. Sometimes words are accidentally combined together like "comeround". -The rules or logic of the mini-games are sometimes not elaborated well. For example, the game doesn't explain how to avoid or get hit in the whack-a-mole game as Wang Yichen walks back-and-forth across the screen. I thought pressing the hole that's further from her would be correct, but it was a 50/50 toss-up with sometimes Cheng Lin getting hit and sometimes not at all. This is also the case for the Escape Room puzzle when Jiang Mi, Wang Yichen and Selina are locked in coffins. You are supposed to key in the numbers and then the "tick" button, but the game doesn't explain that well and implies you must type the total sum of the numbers. For example, Selina's combination is "123+123=" and that made me think I had to type the total number, not just the "tick" button. -Some scenes have very little or sudden build-ups to developments. This can be seen in the hospital scene when Wang Yichen and Jiang Mi are arguing with the player being forced to choose between them. But you have very little idea on what they are arguing about and it made me feel like you are being forced to choose based on which woman you like rather than the substance of the argument. This also happens in Selina's best ending, when suddenly you are told that Selina's father has been pressuring her to return home and this was never brought up earlier at all. -Some choices' impacts may be limited like if you choose not to forgive Jiang Mi for writing the false article that discredited Cheng Lin, she will still appear and talk to Cheng Lin as though nothing had happened or he had completely forgiven her. I think having a variant scene where things are a bit tense between Cheng Lin and Jiang Mi would have been more reflective of the player' choice. -It's weird and inconsistent that Selina speaks to Cheng Lin in English and he responds back in Chinese. Nowhere are we informed that Selina or Cheng Lin can understand the respective foreign language but still speak in their mother tongue. This becomes more noticeable when Kawase Nana speaks to Cheng Lin in a mixture of Chinese and Japanese, which is more realistic or when you hear Jiang Mi say "hello" to Selina in English. Verdict: With 8 love interests of diverse backgrounds, deeper stories and 7 chapters, I think fans who enjoyed 'Love Is All Around', 'My Destiny Girls' or 'Charming Hearts' will enjoy 'I've Fallen For You'. There's a lot of replay value and a nice balance between comedy, serious drama and nice romantic moments despite some of the issues. 'I've Fallen For You' is well-made and is worth giving a try, considering that this genre has resulted in half-baked products like 'Be My Cat'. Definitely worth a play!
