The game is interesting when it comes to mechanics, there is only one problem, the content and here it is missing, I mean theoretically there is some story here, I won't say that there is none at all, but there is definitely too little of it, and apart from that the game is a very interesting experiment and I like it.

Taboo Trial is a small game but fun, has content to grind for and can be challenging. The combat is very frantic, and as you progress it gets farther and farther from the expected dodge-and-hit gameplay. It becomes very fast-paced and mindless and the numbers and speeds start scaling. The enemy variations are a little too small. The game is good and worth the money (in a sale).

7/10 This game is pretty fun to play. But as a roguelike action, it is way too easy. If you want to play a challenging action game then skip it. If you want to watch how easy numbers getting inflated or to feel the catharsis of beating monsters with 3d cuties, then buy it.

Taboo Trial is a game that was suprisingly enjoyable for me. Basically, it is a mix of: [*]Roguelike mechanics from Hades (Multiple weapons, and god upgrades) [*]Aestethics and basic combat from Dark Souls [*]Good looking anime girls [*]Mechanized Norse Mythology [*]Diablo-like loot and progression system Honestly, it is far from flawless, but can be very satisfying and fun to play. Some things that should be looked at: [*]The spells look and feel pretty basic and weak, I never felt that they fit the game as they are right now. [*]The UI feels very basic most of the time. [*]The translation feels a bit off. [*]Not a lot of variety, most of the runs feel the same, spicing up with different weapons goes only so far. Lastly about the combat and scaling. The combat is very frantic, and as you progress it gets farther and farther from the expected dodge-and-hit gameplay. It becomes very fast-paced and mindless and the numbers and speeds start scaling. EDIT: After playing a bit more, I realized that everything that something seemed weird because the game is actually structured like a diablo game, be it combat, or progression. And looking at it like this, its pretty great. Honestly, it singlehandedly solved a lot of problems I usually have with the genre. Like the inventory space problems in between runs, or min-maxing items. Good job for real! Recommended.

quite short and just something you boot up to turn off you brain and hit things, with that mention this game escalates quickly like, after your first successful run modifiers just go like crazy went from doing like 200 damage to 1.3M lmao basic attack modifiers are broken and there's not much variety on the "rogue-like" elements. And in case you're wondering no, every character plays the same what changes combat are the weapons, that you can equip on any character, character unlockables are only passive buffs
