This is a short introduction (episode 1 to 5) to a much large part of the story, which you have to purchase seperately in a DLC. I would still recommend it however. The story and acting is a bit cheesy, but the production value is pretty high and some of the actors and actresses really knock it out of the ballpark.

I enjoyed this intro to the game, the quality of visuals was great, but the acting was too cheesy for my liking, and I wished there had been more interactivity (mechanisms rather than simple point-and-clicks)

This FMV game has crazy production quality. Everything looks and feels epic. The acting is great and not only by FMV standards but by movie standards. The cinematography is simply stunning. The story is an intresting detective story with some unforseen twists and turns with a good dose of humor. It feelt quite unique and is the best detective game i have ever played. The english subtitels are very good. Way better then in most FMVs. With its 20+ Euro price this game might be "expensive" compared to other FMVs but thats no wonder with how well and ambitious this production is and totally worth its price! It took me rougly 5 and a half hour to finish my first playthrough without exploring diffrent choices. I did not encounter a single bug. I can highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of FMVs or detective storys in generel.

好游戏. Underdog Detective is a good FMV game with high production value, great acting and an engaging detective story set in China's Wu Zhou dynasty. The English translation is sufficient but needs improvement to rise to the same level of quality. The base game is pretty short and only covers episodes 1 to 5; I finished episode 3 within an hour. I like the reflection system but would have loved to see more puzzles, more complexity and on the whole more interactivity with the player. Still, for every minute of playing Underdog Detective I've been incredibly entertained - so much so that I felt compelled to buy the DLC with episodes 6-17. Well done to the dev team! I hope that devs and publishers of high quality Chinese FMV games will become more aware of their potential market in Western countries and spend more time and effort in making their products available to us, especially with regard to proper translation, so that more people can enjoy them. 四海之内皆兄弟也.
