world ended? really don't care. cute AI girls asked me to hit buttons to rebuild civilization, so here I am, mashing through the beats. Got it on sale for less than a dollar, absolutely stolen at that price. Really fun and enjoyed every bit of it. 10/10 recommend to anyone who enjoys rhythm games as much as I do.
This is the first rhythm game I've ever played. I enjoyed it. The screen changing from 5 lanes to 7 lanes is hard to get used to and a little disorientating. I don't know if this is a normal design but it makes my fingers forget where they are when it changes drastically. There are also a few songs that will only show 6 lanes. So, it will show an extra lane on the right or left that uncenters the lanes. The modes easy / normal / hard don't mean very much. Instead pay attention to the song level. The song level goes up when you change difficulty. Not all songs start at the same level on easy, so some can be quite challenging off the bat. After playing the game for a while I found that level 4 to 5 is the sweet spot for challenging, but not insanely difficult. Anything 6 or above is just impossible in my book. I'd seriously like to see how someone even manages to press so many buttons so quickly....
Got it for less than a dollar and honestly, I can say it's okay, if you're a 4k and 6k player and always wanted to learn 5k and 7k this would be a good recommendation since it will force you to learn both at the same time, many songs are really cool, story is okay-ish I guess, but besides that, the game itself on the first min you open it, it looks so cheap, I would say that if you look at it in so much detail you would find it really awful, but honestly, for less than a dollar, I still would recommend it, if you're curious about it, wait for discounts and get it for less than a dollar
Kamitsubaki City Ensemble is a very chill rhythm game with a unique vibe and strong focus on its music and aesthetic. The songs are catchy, and the visual style feels very artsy in a good way. The 5-key to 7-key switching can be tricky to get used to, and it’s a bit of a bummer there’s no touch mode for Steam Deck. There are only a few songs available at the start too, with a lot locked behind DLC, but it’s still a nice, relaxing experience overall.
