This game is very special. The graphics are weird but unique. (The girls are very cute.) There are so many things to do in this game. It's still not in its best form, but for now, I love it as it is. It would be great if the developers had plans to add more activities. As a stock trader, I think this game is a great way to teach someone about money, especially if they are unfamiliar with it and want to learn. As a game developer, I find the developers to be skilled in system design, particularly in creating minigames and sub-systems. I believe what they need now is a bit of marketing and to make the game more accessible to new players. I understand that the UI is frustrating with so much information. It's hard to read everything, but I like it. It reminds me of online games from the 2000s.

An utterly addicting intricate and quirky web of trading, fighting, grinding, and gambling systems where the house doesn't always win but does make sure to give you a hell of a time slowly treading through the sticky tar and molasses pit of progression. There are many ways to progress throughout the game and the game makes it a point to tell you this. All the systems sort of tie into each other and it's up to you to figure out how to earn EXP and the two forms of currency as efficiently as possible, as well as finding ways to convert them into each other, keep yourself alive, and generally thrive. You can play the game entirely within the confines of the first city you find and just avail of the services and ways of gambling, trading, quests, parcel delivery, etc or you can go out on adventures where you can fight monsters, watch them fight each other (which actually gives you EXP), explore dungeons, and collect resources all while fighting the darkness of the night and the hoard of ghosts that comes with it. There are many ways to build your character, many ways to tackle the grind, and many ways to break the game. The only issue with this game is that despite the tremendous effort the developer put into giving the player as much information as possible, creating a FAQ in the form of a PDF, an NPC that slowly guides you through all the game's systems through a tutorial quest system, etc... The translation makes this game very hard to learn. With the incredible myriad of things to do and ways to do them, the translation is adequate enough that you could get by but the extra brain-power required to interpret the awkward machine translation, to read and remember fully Chinese NPC names, to understand all the advice and tutorials the game gives you just makes the game impenetrable for many. The game encourages you to explore it and learn things on your own despite its very comprehensive tutorial but it's harder to enjoy this process as an English speaker when the language barrier makes things just that little bit more opaque than they should be. Along with that, the game is missing a lot of quality of life, some of which is an inherent, very intentional part of the design (as an example there is no map to see where things inside a city are but you can ask NPCs where buildings and other NPCs are kinda like in Morrowind and Outcast) and others of which are just flaws. Moving can be incredibly slow, the stamina system makes it even slower, you have to run all around the city to get anything done on top of that, etc... All these things add up to make time management a big part of the gameplay as your character has a limited lifespan and dying from old age and passing stuff on to your next character is part of the game but it can really feel like an enormous slog at times. Overall if you're prone to getting addicted to spending hours grinding in MMOs for incremental gains but you actually enjoy it, you'll probably be in heaven playing this. If not, this game's probably not for you. I hope to see improved translation and better quality of life in the future and considering the developer is very receptive to feedback, this may very well happen eventually. Coin and Wishpalm captures what makes the Chinese indie scene so interesting and endearing yet flawed. Full of ambition, incredibly quirky and charming, lots of breadth as well as depth, but also very, VERY jank. It's reminiscent of wild and wacky world of Slavjank and Eurojank games and I can't get enough of it.

A very interesting game, but due to the high degree of freedom, I don't know what to do. I hope the production team can strengthen the guidance of the game. I believe this is a great game and look forward to future updates
