Pretty simple and enjoyable game. Enough variety to keep it interesting. However, unlock progression is very slow for a game I don't plan on putting many hours into (I will be missing out on a lot).

It's a 5 bucks treasure. Kind of like a vampire survivors, tower defense and deckbuilder mix that is just fun to explore and play around with. And it has it's own unique twist to it! I wish I would find more games like this.

Pretty fun game, easily worth the 5 bucks i payed for it. The English translation needs to get better, there's a lot of having to figure out what stuff does because the text doesn't make sense but that's apparently being worked on. The game should have probably been released in early access based on the developers roadmap but as long as it does get the updates anyway it doesn't really matter and i do think it's worth 5 bucks even in the current state.

I bought the game mainly because it was cheap and looked interesting but I was surprised how much fun this game is. Loopstructor is your typical tower defense rogue-like game but with the difference that you use trains. This gives the game a unique twist unseen in TD games, it's not the enemies that are moving along a fixed path but your towers. The goal is, as usual, to defend the base using various attack and support towers. All towers in this game are however trains that you can place on train tracks that you have constructed yourself. Each track originates from the main station (called the energy catapult) and you can connect as many normal stations as you want (called catapults here) but at the end the track always has to return to it's starting point, creating a loop. Each track can only hold one train but as you progress through your run you can add more train slots to tracks or get more energy catapults to place more loops. An important gameplay element in here is the so called "domain" mechanic. The area inside your loop places a debuff on enemies that increases damage they take. These domains work only if your loop isn't to big, the main station has a timer that resets when the train returns to station. This means you can technically create a loop that covers the entire map but you would lose out of the boost from yopur domain. Train vehicles also come with various traits similiar to auto-battler games. The first trait always defines what type of attack tower the vehicle is while the second trait is a supporting trait that usually offers some extra abilities. Combining multiple distinct towers with the same trait activates a passive bonus for all of them in that train, the max bonus is always activated at four units (because that's the standard train size limit) and can offer very strong abilites. For example, cannons fire single target bullets at enemies but they have a low chance to crit, with a four unit synergy you get a 100% crit, doubling their firepower. Some of these synergies interact with your field domain, the frost synergy will freeze enemies inside your domain while the spike synergy will create a domain that deals damage to everyone that walks through it. This gives you even more reasons to interact with the field domain mechanic. There are currently 18 different synergies in this game which gives you some interesting combinations and strategies to try out. Additionally, as you play through your run you can find so called super modules, these act as passive items for your run. these can give you ways to obtain more rewards during the run or add extra abilities to your trains, overall improving your capabilities. There are some really cool designs here too like Fireworks, which reduces damage and size of your exploding bombs but fires many bombs at once. Whern you start your run, you can also select from various bases, each one having their own passive item that improves the abilities of a specific tower trait. This can help you to start a good synergy. One thing that the game however lacks is a bit of variety. there are many different towers and traits in the game but too many with similiar and overlapping abilities. A bomb tower will fire a bomb no matter what type it may fire more than one bomb but otherwise there isn't much of a difference between them. Some towers feel different like the missile towers which have some cool abilities but that's a minority here which I find a waste of untapped potential. There is also a lack of enemy variety, most of the time you wills ee only four types of enemies, the normal ones, slightly faster ones, bigger and tankier ones and small ones that can shoot. There are also only three bosses which will you all encounter during the same run, there is no boss variety at all. This results in a lot of runs feeling too similiar. The devs mentioned however that they are working on more variety and the last patch introduced two new enemy types which can appear in elite fights aong with more towers and bases. So there is some more content coming too and I'm hopeful that this will fix the variety issue. Since it's a cheap game, I don't regret buying it, in fact I have so much fun playing it every day. An absolute win for people who want a good TD game with rogue-like mechanics.
