Originally, I was tempted to give a thumbs down due to sheer frustration. I'm now really enjoying the game. It has a much better story than I expected, a lot of heart, and some innovative approaches to immersive story telling that I really appreciate now. So, a quick guide to getting over some tough points so you can actually enjoy the game if you have the same issues I did: TIME LIMITS I HATE dialog time limits. When you start, it feels like there's a lot of them. You're constantly missing dialog options because Aliya has the fastest thumbs in the galaxy. Your dialog options can disappear after all of 0.3 seconds. It gets better quickly. These time limits are less and less common, and when they appear, it rarely matters if you don't respond. It's still annoying, but you get a bit more used to it. Treat it like you're talking to someone for real. Sometimes, they just move on before you can respond. NO PAUSE BUTTON It's impossible to pause the game, even by pulling up menus. I understand why they did this. It really does feel very immersive. However, if you are a very slow reader (like me) or have a life filled with interruptions from phone calls, pets, kids, etc. the game becomes a source of stress and ruin your fun. Even if you quit, you may miss something. Solution: Look up a program called Nyrna. It lets you pause any game by suspending the process in your operating system. You pretty much hit the pause key and it'll pause your current program. This is useful for other games, too. SLOW RESPONSES The game more or less has a real-time feeling. This means when she says hang on, she needs to check on an engine - it really does take her 30 minutes to evaluate an engine. It helps to just run the game on the side while you do other things, and treat it like a normal chat. Pair this with Nyrna, and you can pause the game if she suddenly starts talking while you're dealing with something important IRL.

“Aliya” Review: Romance and Life Across the Cosmos Some stories feel like a profound whisper across the cosmos, and Aliya is one of those stories. It’s not just a tale of love or adventure; it’s a meditation on life, the universe, and the fleeting yet powerful nature of human connection. This game asks us a question: In the vastness of the universe, where do we fit? Are we just drifting through time, or can we create something beautiful before the stars burn out? A Cosmic Sense of Loneliness and Depth Standing before the infinite stretch of the universe, we often feel insignificant, like a speck of dust in an ever-expanding cosmos. Stars are scattered across the sky, light-years away, and time seems to slip through our fingers, leaving us questioning our place in the grand scheme of things. Aliya isn’t just a story about loneliness; it brings warmth and meaning to the vast, cold expanse of space. It tells us that even in the emptiness, there’s something worth fighting for—each soul, each connection, each fleeting moment of love matters. The protagonist, Aliya, and her companion embark on a journey that spans not just time but their very existence. Their love story is less about the details and more about the resonance of their shared connection. They meet, learn, and grow in ways that transcend the ordinary. Their bond is cosmic, as if their hearts and minds were always meant to find one another, despite the overwhelming distances and uncertainties that separate them. And in a universe this big, isn’t that kind of connection the ultimate form of romance? Fragility and Resilience of Life In the vastness of the cosmos, life is fragile. It’s fleeting. It’s precious. Aliya emphasizes the paradox of life’s fragility and its incredible resilience. Even when faced with challenges that seem insurmountable, there’s an undeniable force that pushes the human spirit forward. Through Aliya’s eyes, we see the universe not just as a cold, indifferent expanse, but as a canvas for personal growth and understanding. Even in her most vulnerable moments, Aliya holds onto hope, to love, and to the desire to live fully. Her journey is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Like the stars in the night sky, she shines despite being surrounded by darkness. Even when everything seems uncertain, there’s something beautiful and powerful about a soul that refuses to surrender to despair. Romance Beyond Time and Space At its core, Aliya is a love story, but not the typical kind we’ve seen in so many tales. The romance here is not about grand gestures or happy endings, but about the subtle connection between two people who are willing to sacrifice, learn, and grow together, no matter how far apart they may seem. The beauty of their relationship lies in its depth—the unspoken moments, the quiet understanding, the way they balance each other even when the universe seems indifferent to their existence. In the vastness of space, love feels more profound. Their relationship isn’t bound by time or location. It’s as if, in some strange cosmic way, their souls have always been in orbit around each other. And even when they’re apart, that connection is still felt, deep within. That’s the kind of romance Aliya brings—one that’s timeless and space-defying. Final Thoughts: Warmth in the Void Aliya is more than just a game; it’s a philosophical exploration of life, love, and existence. It challenges the idea that in the grand scope of the universe, our lives are insignificant. Instead, it shows us that we have the power to make meaningful connections, to experience deep love, and to find our place in the chaos of the cosmos. In a world that often feels cold and distant, Aliya reminds us that even in the vast unknown, there’s warmth to be found. We may be small, but our ability to love, to feel, and to connect with others makes all the difference. And maybe, just maybe, that’s what gives life its meaning.

Basically, this is a long-distance relationship game. (Lol, a very long distance 1,000 years apart). I just want to say, "I PLAYED THIS GAME BEFORE" of course, in real life. Having an LDR is complete bullsh*t. Especially in this game. Wtf, 1,000 years apart? :"u It hurts, bruh. You fall in love with a girl, but you can't touch her or see her in real-time without tech. Waiting for her reply, worrying about her, thinking about her, it really hurts. That's the reality of both the game and real life. But in this game… YOU CAN SEE HER DIE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, AND YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING. IT HURTS. Alright, enough talking. I recommend this game if you want to experience an LDR simulator, like having a crush on a girl on Discord or something. Yeah, this is the simulation between YOU and Her. This game has a real-time system. So if she does something, you do something too. Don't just wait for her, or you'll get hurt. Because it can be wait for couple hours or day. I don't know next story on ending 5, it's good if she can arrive to earth and meet me xD Forget it, just hallucinations. Very good Game, Music and Art. 9.5/10. Is there really no other way ?

The game is a nice, casual interactive fiction that I'd like to see more of, especially with this format. Though some may view the real-time synchronization as a hassle, I find that its one of the more necessary components in a game that fleshes out the story. it gives the story weight, something for the player to have in their heads as they await the next message or what is beyond the door. After finishing the game once, I've played again and found the game even more endearing. I recall reading a view here about grammar and such for their translation, however I see not much of a big deal unless you were expecting peer-reviewed scientific essay level grammar. The writing does more than enough good to push past small grammars. The game itself is easily at least a 8.5/10 in my book and would definitely recommend some people that are big in visual novels or interactive fiction to pick it up as I'd like for this game to become more popular after playing through it. Just don't mind the distance, even if it's a 1,000 light-years away.

This game made me cry The story is beautifully written. I was spending a lot of time with this one character, getting to know her. I got to know her struggles, what she liked, and a lot more. When I first played through, I wasn't too impressed that the game forces you to wait in order for this character to do whatever she needs done. However, I think this is done out of necessity. I think it helps to ground the story and the character, and to give her actions weight, as you sit there in anticipation. At the time of this writing, I've only beaten it once, and I'm excited to spend more time with Aliya.
