It's similar to hero's adventure, definitely a fun game and I genuinely don't understand how people can dislike it, it's not perfect, but no game is.

Review: Definitely an instant recommendation for those who are fans of wuxia, murim, and all things cultivation. Coming from playing games like Wandering Sword and Road to Passion and now The World of Kungfu: Dragon and Eagle, there are very unique nuances with all 3 games. The uniqueness of The World of Kungfu: Dragon and Eagle would be a further step into the direction of freedom and agency within the game, for instance, the customization in this game has quite a lot of intricacies and depth with things like origins, traits, randomized stats, and even allowing you to join any sect and faction that you want. In my time playing this game, I feel like 2 primary shortcomings are the morality system and GUI. For instance, there are options in the game that are the most rewarding but they force +1 morality, and there's a couple odd instances where morality is just forcibly taken away, like speaking to a specific guard. As for the GUI, the hugest gripe I have is the fact that during a skill, you can miss-click a tile with no enemy and it will take away your turn, additionally, there's no way to repeat the same action as a shortcut. Despite the very few shortcomings, I really enjoy and adore this game. Difficulty level: I've been playing this game on the fire hell difficulty and it's very open about being extremely difficult with the intent on being challenging. I personally think that this is the best difficulty option to get the most out of your experience with this game as it unlocks certain achievements and possibly other pieces of content not available in the other difficulties. However, one main issue with fire hell difficulty is the fact that despite every enemy being upscaled in power, there are allies that will occasionally forced upon you and they don't appear to be scaled up at all. Your forced NPC allies in this game mode will essentially be taken down like a hot knife against butter. Sometimes the forced ally will already be in your party, and in that exception, you do have the option to power level that specific ally if you wish but other than that, it's still problematic. Other thoughts: Like a few other reviews have stated, it doesn't make sense that this game has such a mixed review. I caution others to take the rating with a grain of salt and just test out the game for yourselves. Rating: 8.5/10

Potential to become a real cult classic. I can tell the amount of effort put into this by the devs. Scratches all my itches for a Wuxia game: -Creating own martial arts -Becoming disciples of cool places and people -Solid leveling -Build variation -Historic and Wuxia novel easter eggs Though ! The Log system needs getting used to. Better than EA, though still not to my taste ! A plethora of bugs. (fixed) ! I don’t think I like the sudden power spikes for enemies when entering the late game regions, Felt like a daddy leaving the south, Immediately get wiped by northern boss with 5x my health, attack and defense. (Fixed)

I am really recommend this game if you like wuxia story and gameplay. Hopefully the Developer will expand the storyline and give party members a sidequest that develop their characters

This game is awesome. If you like martial arts or wuxia then give it a try. Stands up with recent releases of Wuxia JRPG. Don't know why it has such mixed reviews. Full release is already out in beta testing and open release is around the corner.
