A relatively short (16hr total playtime personally for main story, but I did listen to EVERY song in full) Kukugumi victory lap with 4 routes (last being the longest), around 15 CGs, and great songs and voice performances (obviously). Judy Knightley has a lot of great moments and tremendous stage presence; she instantly became a favorite. Small complaints would be the generic sprites used for 3 of the side characters in the play even though they are played by a Kukugumi member, but the 4 unique main character sprites for every Kukugumi member is still substantial; relative lack of CGs + their general blandness (you'll get none of the visual theatrical spectacle central to Revstar); general repetition in the routes (though every member's unique rendition of the roles + occasional plot/script changes lessen it a bit); and obviously the length, there are some parts in each route besides the last that feel like they could be expanded into full scenes but are relegated to brief mentions. Obviously nothing mindblowing like the movie, but it gives all the girls a lovely sendoff and the way all routes converge into the epilogue is beautiful showing how each of them have grown and learned from each other and how they're ready to move on to the next stage and meet again. It's definitely not a necessary follow-up to the movie, but it does build upon it, even if not as much as I would have wanted it to, and is a worthy companion piece. And well, even in spite of all this, the ending stands on its own as something beautiful and a wonderful expanded epilogue to the movie. TLDR: IF YOU LOVE THESE GIRLS PLAY THE GAME but maybe wait for a sale THAT IS ALL

I recommend this if you are already familiar with the series Revue Starlight as well as the film Revue Starlight the Movie. This serves as a bridge between the film and the epilogue of said film. Really nice send off for the cast. I'm Juuna and Nana's biggest soldier so this game sated my yuri yearning.

I absolutely adore Revue Starlight and the worlds their characters create. Getting to see them again as they have grown and changed in previous media, and reaffirm their resolves each of their routes in this game, puts me at ease knowing that they'll be okay, no matter where their dreams take them in the story, and well as wherever and whenever the series allows them to dazzle us once again. Music is inexorably important to the series, and I'm happy to say El Dorado's OST hits exactly what I would expect from Revue Starlight! The new, OP, ED, insert/revue songs and the surrounding OST during the story have stuck with me upon first listen, and I can't wait to have them on streaming platforms as well, but I'm also pretty pleased to be able to listen to most of the tracks in-game by a separate menu. If there is anyone who happened to stumble across this visual novel without any prior knowledge of Revue Starlight, I'd recommend familiarizing yourself with the anime and movie first. A big part of this VN's pathos is knowing how much these girls have grown and arrived at this point. Like many others have said, this VN is more of an epilogue to the girls' story; a last hurrah, but a very satisfying last hurrah nonetheless, alongside previous side characters who were wonderfully fleshed out in the game! Overall, a huge recommendation of mine. Though I've completed my read-throughs of all the routes, I feel my interaction with El Dorado is not done yet!

I couldn’t ask for a better or more beautiful sendoff to Revue Starlight (for now) Think of this game as an epilogue or a victory lap and not as the big next chapter of the franchise I ended up disappointed after my first route. I thought to myself “This wasn’t everything the game had to offer, right?” Yes and no. My mistake was that I overhyped the game because it was delayed for almost a year, it had to be perfect… but nothing is perfect, just like a stage, one of the most real and imperfect forms of art. Despite my initial disappointment, I cherished every minute I spent with the continuation of the characters I love, the new challenges they face, interesting callbacks to their pasts, character dynamics I wished for the franchise to explore more, and of course, how their next stage looks like, not just for the main 9, but also Masai, Amemiya and Judy, characters that have their well-deserved and won spotlight in the story, I can’t talk more about the story without starting to spoil it. So let me just tell you, the ending is a real tearjerker. The storytelling is the same as Revue Starlight Re:live, so what you like or dislike about that style is there, my biggest gripe with it was that the songs didn’t have the highlight they deserved, the highlight they have on the anime, and the movie, it didn’t even have the highlight they had in Re:live, because the songs have little to no time to play, to show their brilliance. The artwork truly surprised me, it’s very close to the original media while having its own personality, the characters look expressive, cheerful, funny, and cute. Nana didn’t have the right to look as adorable as she looks in the game! I only wished for the secondary El Dorado characters to have their own sprite for each Stage Girl, considering they only have Seisho uniforms two extra sprites would have enhanced the experience. The free-play mode after beating the game is a novelty. Still, I would have probably traded it for a longer run time (since a considerable part of the budget surely went to the main voice actresses voicing every role in El Dorado), this game made me realize I’ll never have enough of the 99th Class character (and Judy). I don’t know what Revue Starlight’s next stage looks like, but as long as the real-world stage creation department (A.K.A. the Revue Starlight Project staff) is on board, the future best suited for the 99th Class is waiting!
